The Month for Hearts....

...love, flowers, candy, gifts, friends!  February is here! Heart Art is fun to create.  I love to put hearts on many things, all year, not just in February. It can express how you feel about so many things.  Plus, they are so happy.  So, during the month of February I am going to blog, quote, draw, paint, and photograph, things with hearts and things that I love and post them here.  Feel free to share what you love and add your comments about the things you 'heart' too.

Friendship
So for the first day of February, I want to share a few of my favorite friendship quotes...

"...there is no greater gift than friendship."   Anonymous

"...a friend is someone with whom you dare to be yourself."  Frank Crane

"...how rare and wonderful is that flash of a moment when we realized we have discovered a friend."
                                         William Rotsler

"...it takes a long time to grow an old friend."     John Leonard

HeartHome Love...

I've been working on a custom clay Hearthome and I was excited to take it out of the kiln today! This special Hearthome is a going to Newlyweds. It has been personalized with their last name over the door (I blurred out the name for privacy and because they haven't received it yet!)  and their names and date of their wedding on the bottom.  It also can be used as a bank! It has a slot on the roof and a plug in the bottom to remove their savings, hopefully when its full!  So this house will soon be on its way to a home full of love and hope for the future. I've included photos of the progression of the hand built house bank made of clay, so you can see why the process can take a while. Lots of waiting for drying, then firing, then glazing, more firing...sometimes more glazing and more firing.

What a special wedding gift. Thanks to my customer for the story behind it and the idea and ordering such a special gift for her loved ones!

If you would like to order a custom house, you can look at this listing on Etsy:  Custom House Large

Its already July?

Where has June gone? It went by soooo quickly! I have a feeling that July will go by even more quickly. I will be going on a couple of trips this month and have plenty to do around the house, so time does fly...when you are very busy!

We will not be traveling for the fourth of July, but we will be having company, so I am looking forward to the holiday. Hope you have nice holiday plans.

I created a patriotic flag heart a few weeks ago and just listed it in my Etsy shop. Here is the link and a photo to celebrate the arrival of July!

What do you plan to do on the Fourth of July?

Happy Valentines Day!

"Happy Valentines Day"
Beth S. Macre © 2009
Watercolor and Ink
I don't send out many cards, but my daughter loves to get mail. So I had a little free time this week and painted this little valentine card. So I put it in the mail and sent it out to her for Valentines Day. I hope that it gets to her by Valentines Day. We took our son out to dinner before he went back to school. I didn't think he would appreciate a handmade card from Mom, but I know he appreciated being taken out to dinner!
Hope you get something special from your special Valentine!

Heart Frame Tile

I haven't posted in awhile because I've been feeling creative frustration lately. Work and life have been very busy and stressful lately so I haven't had much time for creative time at home. I hope that will change soon. I need to make it a priority again, for my own sanity. I need to turn off the tv and stop watching the news. All the economic and political turmoil is becoming negative energy. I want to create for the sake of creating, but when I think of the economy, I begin to wonder if there is any point. But I will keep creating, despite the bad economy, because that is what I do. I don't feel like I've accomplished anything if I go very long without finishing a project. I just posted this little clay tile frame with hearts in my Etsy shop. I've got a few more clay items that I will be posting soon.
