Half a Century? Really?

I can't believe it really! I don't feel like it, but I had a big birthday this week and turned....gulp...5..0! I really do not like that number, but I'm trying to get used to it! I had a wonderful day of birthday wishes on Wednesday...the big day. My students hugged me alot and brought me birthday cake and my sister sent me flowers to remind me that I was turning this number! My friends who are already past that number assured me that it wasn't bad at all...that is was actually pretty good! Really? Ok...We'll see. They tell me that you don't put up with crap from people anymore. That you get to the point where you don't care what everyone thinks. Well, that does sound pretty good to me. I have always been one who worries about what other people think of me, but I have noticed lately that I have been caring less and less about those things. So here's to being...5..0! I sure hope that it is a good year and decade!

  1. HAPPY BIRTHDAY Beth. I can see you are having a wonderful day.
My Best wishes. and don't be concerned as age is only a number. We can still think 21... maybe the body says no. LOL.
    Have a wonderful year.
    Cheers

  2. Happy Birthday Beth!! Congratulations on making it to 50! Hey, if we are alive, have folks in our lives to love and be loved by and we are in pretty good health then it is definitely time to celebrate! Years do bring us wisdom, confidence and more daring. The best is yet to come! (Gosh that cake looks tasty...)

  6. I've just recently joined the blog world Beth and I just made a comment on my blog about turning 50 in March. I'm beginning to feel the same way about life. I'm starting to focus on how I feel and less on trying to impress others. Do you think maybe that's why we become better artists as we age because we put "ourselves" into our art?
Anyway, Happy Birthday and you look great for 50!

Hello Diana! Thanks for stopping by. Yes, I agree with you about becoming less interested in impressing other and being more happy with ourselves. I'm looking forward to this new freedom!
